Ailsa Ross is the author of The Girl Who Rode a Shark: And Other Stories of Daring Women—a CBC fall pick for 2019. She's a contributor to Outside, BBC History and Longreads, and she lives in Jasper, Alberta. Her favourite bird is (currently) the bohemian waxwing, and she tells the stories of @womenadventurers from around the world on Facebook and Instagram.
