Colin is a best-selling author, filmmaker and adventurer. His expeditions include the first human powered circumnavigation of the world, source-to-sea descents of the Amazon and Yenisey Rivers, rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, breaking the speed record paddling around Vancouver Island, a five-year offshore sailing voyage, rowing 7,000 km from Scotland to Syria and a National Geographic sponsored expedition searching for the origins of the olive tree. He has written four books, and his award-winning films have been aired on National Geographic Television, CTV Travel and others. In 2007 Colin and his wife Julie jointly received the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year award.
