If you're like us, you're always on the lookout for cool new gear to help make the most of your time outdoors.

We've found three new items—fully tested and reviewed below. Must haves!

High Sierra Snow Sports Canada Adjustable Wheeled Combo Bag

High SierraDavid Webb

($320; highsierra.ca)

We love this patriotic ski/snowboard travel bag! Feature-rich and weighing only five kilograms, the padded main compartment holds two pairs of skis plus one snowboard—or two snowboards—keeping all in-place and protected via buckled straps and interior pads.

The large front compartment easily swallows up apparel, and an accessory pocket holds small items like toques and tools. A nifty two-stage zipper-system expands the bag from 160 up to 215 centimetres in length, and it rolls on twin wheels supported by a rigid base.

As the official luggage of Snow Sports Canada, these bags are constructed to withstand the “airline drubbing, jamming into vans and recurrent movement between training and race sites” while athletes from our seven national ski and snowboard teams haul their gear around the globe.

Scrubba Wash Bag

ScrubbaEarth Easy

($60; eartheasy.com)

Ideal for the backpacker on the go, the Scrubba Wash Bag is designed for travellers who clean their knickers where ever they can. Toss in laundry, add water and whatever soap you can scrounge, use the valve to purge excess air and then agitate—internal nubs loosen grime. Rinse, then hang clothes to dry (designed for hot climates or summer use).

When not in use, it doubles as a dry bag and weighs just 140 grams.

Brunton All-Day 2.0

BruntonDavid Webb

($90; brunton.com)

Your GoPro has an Achilles heel—all that high-def power drains batteries. Enter the Brunton All-Day 2.0, a rechargeable waterproof battery pack that drastically extends filming time and even charges your smartphone on the side. We clipped this 150-gram unit to our GoPro Hero3 Black and shot continuously at 1080p/60fps Protune for five hours—filling more than three 32GB memory cards—before we ran out of juice. To compare, the factory battery lasted 70 minutes under the same conditions. (Note: works with all GoPro Hero models, but requires a Hero3+ or Hero4 case.)
